Loan Servicing Specialist – Washington, DC

The Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) equips Latinos and other underserved communities with the skills and financial tools to create a better future for their families and communities. Participants in our programs learn how to build their long-term financial security by buying and staying in their homes, taking control of decisions affecting their apartment buildings, and starting or expanding their small businesses. Position Summary: Reporting to the Loan Portfolio Manager, the Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for providing administrative support for the lending team. This will include assisting with all communications to internal and external stakeholders, servicing and monitoring of small business and consumer loans.

While thorough, the position summary below is not all-encompassing of day-to-day activities.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Produce and send closing documents to borrowers and schedule loan disbursements.
  • Assist the Portfolio Manager in monitoring delinquent accounts and high-risk loans and connecting clients with small business technical assistance services as needed.
  • Work with clients who fall behind in their loan payments to create and monitor payment plans and loan modifications.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for borrowers to resolve concerns, questions, and requests.
  • Taking responsibility for collecting, organizing, protecting, and securely storing data related to delinquent loan accounts according to LEDC’s policies and external regulations.
  • Propose loan modifications and restructurings to discuss and approve at the credit risk committee.
  • Support the Portfolio Manager in preparing reports to credit bureaus and responding to credit report disputes from clients.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Location & Schedule

This position reports to our DC office, located at: 1401 Columbia Rd NW, Unit C-1, Washington, DC 20009.

LEDC is currently operating with a hybrid-remote work schedule and all employees are required to report to the office at least twice a week. The finalized schedule is approved by this position’s supervisor.

This is a full-time, exempt role which typically requires 40 hours per week. Some travel may be required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Proficient computer skills, especially when using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $52,564 - $61,008 annually, dependent on experience and team budget.
