On the eve of International Women's Day, join us for an insightful evening with empowered female entrepreneurs and business owners, learn from and network with female founders, get inspired and discover ideas that will bring your business or business idea to a new level.

We will be holding a panel discussion with inspiring female founders who will talk about their journey to success and share their stepping stones towards turning their passions into a profitable enterprise.

The event will be a wonderful opportunity for aspiring female entrepreneur to learn insights of successfully operating a business!

The panel discussion will be followed by a Q&A and a speed networking session for our guests.

Our panelists:

Monica Kang

Monica Kang is a creative educator who is transforming today’s workforce through the power of creativity. As the Founder and CEO of InnovatorsBox®, Monica teaches creativity in a tangible, practical, and relatable way regardless of industry or job title. She has worked with clients worldwide including Fortune 500 companies, higher education, government, and nonprofits. Monica’s work has been awarded across numerous platforms, including The White House, Ashoka Changemakers, National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), and Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). Driven by her lifelong love of knowledge, she is also an adjunct professor at BAU International University where she teaches entrepreneurship and leadership.

Prior to InnovatorsBox®, Monica was a nuclear nonproliferation policy expert in international affairs. She holds an M.A. from SAIS Johns Hopkins University in Strategic Studies and International Economics and a B.A. from Boston University.

Karen Maria Alston

An entrepreneur, female founder, marketer, brand expert, women’s leadership advocate and authenticity guru, Karen Maria Alston is an award-winning proven expert. She is affectionately known as The Advertising Diva or for her hashtag #beingkarenalston. In 2002, Karen stepped out on faith, left her job at America Online to follow her passion and create Alston Marketing Group now d/b/a AM+G Marketing Communications. (www.alstonmarketing.com)

In 2015, Karen added to her entrepreneurial endeavors and founded the innovative women’s empowerment and professional educational leadership development platform, The Spectrum Circle. Anjali Varma

Anjali Varma is an online influencer and business coach for female entrepreneurs. She coaches small businesses on marketing, strategy, and branding to help them launch their new business or take their existing business to the next level. She hosts local & virtual mastermind groups, an online community (Mompreneur Tribe Facebook Group), a weekly Facebook Live show, and local meetups to connect, educate, and inspire female entrepreneurs. Anjali is a TV spokesperson appearing regularly on DC and Baltimore stations including Fox 5 DC, WUSA 9, NBC 4. She is also the owner of Kidville Bethesda, a children's franchise in downtown Bethesda. She holds an MBA from NYU Stern School Of Business as well as a BBA from the University of Michigan. Whitney Parnell is a rising black millennial activist, and the Co-Founder and CEO of Service Never Sleeps (SNS), a nonprofit that mobilizes communities to promote “Allyship”—An active way of life that exercises bridge-building to ensure equality, opportunity, and inclusion for everyone. Whitney is also releasing social justice album this fall, titled What Will You Do. The album uses empathy as a call to action, and all proceeds will go toward SNS. Whitney is excited to create a movement of service and Allyship by igniting social change through mass civic engagement, bridge-building, and empathy.
